Köln ist eine große Stadt die zu groß für mich ist.  Nachher ich in Köln war, wollte ich in einer kleine Stadt sein.  Münster war diese kleine Stadt… aber Berlin wartet auf mich. Wenn ich in Berlin angekommen bin, war ich leider krank und hass ich Berlin mehr weil ich so krank war. Dann, fühle mich besser und bin ich in die Stadt gegangen. Meine Frau liebt Berlin. Soll ich auch Berlin lieben?

Wir sind in die schmutzige Stadt gegangen und… es war sehr schön.  Natürlich haben wir das Denkmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas besucht und auch die Berliner Mauer. Ist das schade? Genau. Aber  Deutschland had Denkmäler zu sich an schlechte dinge die passiert sind denken lassen.  Berlin vergesse nie und nichts.  Das Denkmal hat einen starken Name: Denkmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas.  Berlin vergesse gar nichts und Berlin geht immer weiter. Berlin bestimmet sich mit seinem anhaltender Vorwärtsbewegung. Berlin hat eine bestimmte Einsicht von der Fehler der Deutschland gemacht hat, und dann geht Berlin weiter zu der Zukunft mit seiner vielseitige Kultur. Berlin ist kein Ding. Es ist aber ein Ereignis. Wenn du Berlin verstehen willst, dann muss du dich fragen, “wann bin ich und wo in Berlin bin ich jetzt.”  Berlin ist Existenzialismus personifizierte. Berlin lebt und macht sein selbst Existenz mit seiner Tätigkeit.

Es gibt ein Sprichwort über Berlin. Ich habe es auf Englisch gesehen. “If you can’t make it in Berlin, you can’t make it anywhere.”  Meine Frau hat mir gesagt dass dieses Sprichwort ist ein Berlin Version von das Sprichwort über New York :  “If you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere.”  Über das Berlin Version… Das ist was viele Leute die ich mitgesprochen habe gesagt. Ich habe Leute von überall kennengelernt und sie alle glauben dass Berlin ist wunderbar.

Cologne is a big city which is too big for me. After I was in Cologne, I wanted to be in a small town. Münster was this small city … but Berlin is waiting for me. When I arrived in Berlin, I was unfortunately ill and hated Berlin because I was so sick. Then, feel better and I have gone to the city. My wife loves Berlin. Should I love Berlin?

We went to the dirty town and … it was very nice. Of course, we visited the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and the Berlin Wall. Is that a pity? I agree. But Germany had monuments to think of bad things that happened. Berlin never forgot anything. The monument has a strong name: Monument to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Berlin does not forget anything and Berlin goes on and on. Berlin is determined by its continuous forward movement. Berlin has made a certain sense of the mistakes of Germany, and then Berlin goes on to the future with its versatile culture. Berlin is not a thing. But it is an event. If you want to understand Berlin, you have to ask yourself “When am I and where in Berlin am I now?” Berlin is personified existentialism. Berlin lives and makes its own existence with its activity.

There is a proverb about Berlin. I’ve seen it in English. “If you can not make it in Berlin, you can not make it anywhere.” My wife told me that this proverb is a Berlin version of the proverb about New York: “If you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere.” About the Berlin Version … This is what many people I have said. I have met people from everywhere and they all believe that Berlin is wonderful.

Berlin ist politisch. Berlin hasst Nazis und fürchtet Nationalismus.

I do not quite understand this one, but I assume it has something to do with immigration. This was in taken in Neu-Cologne which is an area where they feared racism was rising and they did not want to tolerate it. I can’t say this German, so I just wrote it in English.

“Put your little crosses on your little mustaches, Nazis.” This is an idiomatic threat to ‘neo-Nazis. Berlin does not welcome them.

FOOD IN BERLIN

Essen ist billig zu Essen. Unter sind zwei Beispiele. Das erste Beispiel (auf Englisch: Minestrone soup, Pizza with pepperoni, salami, mushrooms and peppers, wine spritzer, a cocktail similar to a Pina Colada, a half liter of beer and a bottle of mineral water.  In US Dollar das ist $20,99    Wenn man bestellt dieses genauen Essen in der USA, es würde €40,00 kosten.

ENGLISH: Food is cheap to eat. Below are two examples. The first example is called “Minestrone soup”, “pizza with pepperoni”, “salami, mushrooms and peppers, wine spritzer”, a cocktail of “pina colada” and a bottle of mineral water. In US dollars this is 20.99. If you ordered this exact food in the US, it would cost about $44.00.

English: Above: Much cheaper than one can find the US. In US dollars that’s $3.94 and you would get a cup of coffee, oven fresh bread roll, a slice of salami, a slice of cheese, a boiled egg, two pats of butter and portion of in season jam. Super cheap.

Wir haben eine regelmäßige Tabelle oder so. Er war in einer Rauchlounge in New Köln, Berlin. Dieser Haupttisch war für Leute, die mehr Deutsch sprechen wollen. Weil wir in Berlin niemanden kennen, haben wir niemanden, mit dem wir Deutsch sprechen konnten. Verdammt, ich muss mehr Zeitformen lernen, damit ich besser Deutsch schreiben kann. Aber du kannst mich verstehen und das ist wichtig. An diesem Rauchort haben wir viele Menschen aus der ganzen Welt. Die erste Lektion war die Grammatik. Die zweite Stunde war ein Gespräch mit allen. Ich habe mit zwei Mexikanern, einem Bulgaren, einem Italiener und einem Chinesen auf Deutsch gesprochen. Es war ziemlich lustig. Niemand rauchte in unseren Klassenzimmern, also war alles super. Wir haben alle Bier oder Wein und wir haben zusammen Deutsch gesprochen. Hier verliebte ich mich in Berlin. Dieses Treffen hat meinem Herzen ein neues Leben gegeben.

ENLISH: We have a regular table or something. He was at a smoke lounge in New Cologne, Berlin. This main table was for people who want to speak more German. Because we do not know anyone in Berlin, we have no one with whom we could speak German. Damn I need to learn more tenses so I can write better German. But, you can understand me and that is important. At this smoke location we have many people from all over the world. The first lesson was grammar. The second hour was a conversation with everyone. I have spoken to two Mexicans, a Bulgarian, an Italian, and a Chinese in German. It was quite fun. Nobody smoked in our classrooms, so everything was great. We all have beers or wine and we spoke German together. This is when I fell in love with Berlin. This meeting has given my heart a new life.

Hast du Munchies gesehen? Munchies ist ein Fernsehprogramm von Vice Magazine. Jedenfalls ist es oft in Deutschland, weil Deutschland so viele alte Weingüter, Brauereien und Restaurants hat. Deutschland hat auch einen boom Restaurant-Szene. Ein teil von dieser Restaurant-Szene ist mit Imbisswagen. Ein Showmaster von Munchies hat einen allwöchentlich Event organisiert den alle die Imbisswagon sind zusammen in einem Gebäude damit man kann so viele Essen und Getränk probieren. Es gibt so viele Leute dass man kann fast nicht laufen. Es gibt Essen von jeder Länder. Berlin ist ein Sammelbecken mit 3.5 Millionen Leute von Deutschland und die umliegende Länder (9 Länder angrenzen an Deutschland) und viele andere Länder von Afrika, Porzellan, Indien, USA, Mexiko, und so weiter. Wir haben Essen aus Taiwan und Malaysia gegessen mit amerikanischer Stil Bier das in Deutschland gemacht ist. Das Bier schmeckt wie USA Bier. Ich war unbeeindruckt. Aber hier ist ein Pano-Bild von alle die Imbisswagonen. Der Platz sieht kleiner als er wirklich ist aus.

ENGLISH: Have you seen Munchies? Munchies is a television program of Vice Magazine. It is often in Germany, because Germany has so many old wineries, breweries and restaurants. Germany also has a boom restaurant scene. A part of this restaurant scene is packed with snacks. A showmaster from Munchies has organized an every week event all the snack bars are together in a building so you can taste so many food and drink. There are so many people that you can almost not run. There is food from every country. Berlin is a basin with 3.5 million people from Germany and the surrounding countries (9 countries bordering on Germany) and many other countries of Africa, China, India, USA, Mexico, and so on. We have eaten food from Taiwan and Malaysia with American style beer made in Germany. The beer tastes like USA beer. I was unimpressed. But here is a panorama picture of all the snack carts. Still the place looks smaller than it really is.

Wir sind auch nach einer Absinthe-Bar besucht und es war ganz toll. Sie haben viele Absinthe und in Deutschland hat Absinthe echten Wermut. In die USA Absinth hat keinen echten Wermut weil ist es verboten. Ich habe einen Long-Island-Eisentee bestellt. Mach keine Fehler… es war ganz lecker und ich fühle mich sehr gut. Es gab ein Dackel der sitz auf dem Boden und er war nett und süß. Er war nur ein Welpe. Mein Kumpel. Leider habe ich keine Bilder von dem DackelI.  die Bilder unter lächeln wir nicht, aber wir habe viel spaß.

ENGLSIH: We also went to an absinthe bar and it was great. They have many absinthe and in Germany Absinthe has genuine vermouth. In the US Absinthe has no real vermouth because it is forbidden. I ordered a Long Island iron tea. Do not make any mistakes … it was quite delicious and I feel very good. There was a dachshund sitting on the floor and he was cute and cute. He was just a puppy. My buddy. Unfortunately, I have no pictures of the dachshund. The pictures do not smile, but we have a lot of fun.

THE BERLIN WALL AND GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS. AND SOME BIRDS.

Wir haben den Berliner Mauer besucht und ist es mehr spaß als dass klinkt. Checkpoint Charlie ist jetzt sehr lustig. Schauspieler arbeiten jetzt bei Checkpoint Charlie.  Es gibt kein mehr Wächter, aber Schauspieler spielen wie sie Wächter sind.  Sie tragen Sonnenbrille und Modell sitzen mit die Leute für Fotos.  Als ich ein Kind in Deutschland war der Berliner Mauer steht noch. Dann wenn ich zurück gegangen bin ist der Berliner Mauer eine Sehenswürdigkeit und Deutschland ist vereint. Es ist wichtig, sich an die Berliner Mauer zu erinnern. In die Bilder unter ich schleiche durch Checkpoint Charlie. Meine Frau steht wo ein Teil des Mauers ist gewesen. Ich stehe nahe dem Berliner Mauer.

ENGLISH: We visited the Berlin Wall and it is more fun than that. Checkpoint Charlie is now very funny. Actors are now working at Checkpoint Charlie. There is no more guardian, but actors play as they are guardians. They wear sunglasses and model sitting with the people for photos. When I was a child in Germany the Berlin Wall still stands. When I went back, the Berlin Wall is a landmark and Germany is united. It is important to remember the Berlin Wall. In the pictures under I sneak through Checkpoint Charlie. My wife is standing where part of the wall has been. I am standing near the Berlin Wall.

Die Regierungsgebäude in Deutschland sind sehr wichtig für Europa und wir haben sie besucht. Wir sind nicht in der Regierungsgebäude gegangen, aber haben wir ins gehen gewünscht. Dieses Gebäude ist das Reichstagsgebäude. Und dass auch ist super toll. Hinter uns ist das Regierungsgebäude wo Angela Merkel arbeitet. Unter ist uns vor dem Reichstagsgebäude.

Hallo Angela! Wir sind hier aber wir wissen nicht wo du bist. Bist wirklich so beschäftig und mit was? Trägst du auch einen Cobanmantel wie alle anderen in Deutschland? Ich habe einen Cobanmantel gekauft weil sogar die Vögel tragen Cobanmäntel. Siehst du die Vögel unter? Sie tragen Cobanmäntel und Schals.

ENGLISH: Hello Angela! We are here but we do not know where you are. Are you really so busy and with what? Do you wear a peacoat like everyone else in Germany? I bought a peacoat because even the birds wear peacoat’s. Do you see the birds? They wear peacoat’s and scarves.

Unter ist ein Bild von dem Fernsehturm in Berlin. Es ist von Kommunist Ostdeutschland und es ist in viele Hollywood Filme. Wenn du Zeit hast, du muss du darüber lesen. Du muss über Kommunist Ostdeutschland lesen bis Heute. Sehr interessant. Und wirst du besser als die Leute die über es noch nicht gelesen haben. Und ich kenne dich. Du liebst zu besser als die andere Leute sein.

ENGLISH: Below is a picture of the television tower in Berlin. It is from Communist East Germany and it is in many Hollywood movies. When you have time, you have to read about it. You must read about Communist East Germany until today. Very interesting. And you will be better than the people who have not read about it yet. And I know you. You love being better than the other people.

Während laufen um Berlin habe ich ein Boot gesehen. Weil ich sehe etwas wie dieses nie in meiner Stadt, musste ich ein Bild nehmen. Super toll.

ENGLISH: While walking around Berlin I saw a boat. Because I see something like this never in my city, I had to take a picture. Super-duper.

Und ein mehr Beispiel von Berlin und sein Vorwärtsbewegung.. Berlin, wie viele von Deutschland, ist im Bau. Ich schaue ein Gebäude schlagt worden also etwas andere kann da sein.

Von Berlin sind wir nach München geabfahren. Berlin ist schön und spaß. Fünf Tagen in Berlin ist nicht genug. Ein Jahr ist genug. Berlin ist Existenzialismus und man kann nicht Existenzialismus für nur fünf Tagen erfahren. Vielleicht ein Jahr ist auch nicht genug. Ich weiß nicht, aber Berlin ist wunderbar. Tschüss, Lieben!
